Community and the Arts - World Values Day 2022

Community and the Arts
World Values Day 2022

The Arts within a community tell a powerful story about the roots, values, beliefs, and dreams of the people who live there. What is your community’s art story?

To celebrate this year’s World Values Day, October 20th, 2022,

we are asking you to join us by creating

a one-minute video

focusing on what you value about "Arts in Community".

This is an opportunity for everyone to join in

and tell the world why the arts are vital and important.

WHAT TO DO:

Create Your One-Minute Video (or something close to 1 minute- don’t get crazy over it) Make it personal and passionate. It will be shared with the viewer how you feel the arts give us the opportunity to be a catalyst for change in the World Values Community and Global Audience on World Values Day.

You can talk about:

Something you have done.

Something you would like to see or do in your community.

Or something you have seen in a community that you feel is inspiring and a good model for others to adopt.

How the arts are a catalyst for change and growth.

You Can:

Make the video by yourself, with your family, with your coworkers, or with friends!

If you are a teacher, make a video with your students!

Get everyone involved and MAKE A VIDEO!!

After making your one-minute video, you will need to upload the clip to a hosting site such as YouTube or Vimeo. Make sure you make it “public” to share.  I use my iPhone to record and upload directly to YouTube. It is pretty easy.

Then, email the link to worldvaluesartshow@gmail.com.

WHAT IS WORLD VALUES DAY?

World Values Day is an annual international campaign to increase the awareness and practice of values around the world. Values are increasingly the focus of public debate and discussion, but their role in our lives and their importance is not always fully understood.

World Values Day provides an opportunity to think about our most deeply held values and explore and act on them with others.
